Intensive telephone/Skype discussion of up to two hours, based on your three to four page step outline. This is THE essential part of the development process, to be repeated until the story works.

Successful writers tend to spend most of their time in this stage. Almost all failed writers underestimate or just skip this stage. Character is structure. You MUST recognise this in the development of your scripts.

useful for:

- breaking down your story into scenes and relevant ‘plot points’
- making sure your protagonist has a journey on two levels
- identifying where in the story the key turning points happen
- testing whether the script holds enough dramatic material
- keeping the protagonist on screen and on track throughout the story
- preparing the next draft screenplay
